Last Sunday, Word Beats & Life, in association with the Kennedy Center and with help from Albus Cavus and The Fridge, hosted a paint jam in NE DC. Gregg Deal, who has shown work at The Fridge, raised some eyebrows with his “American Genocide” piece, directed at the issue of the racist name and mascot of the Washington, DC NFL team. Several online blogs have commented, including Washington City Paper, Al Jazeera and Common Grind.
