For this very special performance, master drummer G. Calvin Weston will pay tribute to the transcendent music and free spirit of his iconic mentor, Ornette Coleman- with the combined talents of several members of the DC music community, including guitarist Ed Ricart (known for his work with free rock duo Matta Gawa, Marshall Allen of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Peter Brotzmann, and Herb Robertson),  Jerry Busher of Fugazi and the All Scars, and several members of Richmond's afro/jazz legends Hotel X (SST Records)- the band is sure to bring a fiery mix of jazz, avant rock, funk, and the explosive rhythms and harmolodic exploration for which G. Calvin Weston & Ornette's Prime Time Band are known and loved, to the Fridge!!
