DC Jails Incarcerated Youth Program Spring Art Show

Opening Reception: Thursday, March 25th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Incarcerated Youth Program is a DC Public School that serves juveniles charged with adult crimes (title 16) detained at the DC Jail.

This is the first year IYP has offered art for high school credit and the work they are displaying is art from the past 2 quarters as well as art created in special workshops led by artist Asad "ULTRA" Walker. They will be showing works on paper made with oil pastel, pastel, markers, colored pencils, paint and cut paper.

There will be a poetry reading by a former Incarcerated Youth Program student who will recite poems written by the students currently in the program.
